On Thursday 29th February 37 Year 9 girls from The Whitehaven Academy joined 14 other schools, including CET’ s William Howard and Workington Academy at Cumbria’s first ever girls Empower event. The event was organised by IN4 and is designed to encourage more girls or consider Computing careers. The girls got involved with a range of tasks including searching the internet for clues to find ‘Patient 0’, cracking cypher codes to win Amazon vouchers (well done to Poppy and Poppy on your wins), completing army challenges on reflex testing and hacking into and robbing a bank – to the sum of many millions! Well done girls on your excellent teamwork and cyber skills performance, you were amazing!
