A couple of months ago, Mr Youngman asked Miss Skillen and Miss Pearson to think of a way for the school community to thank Mrs Gaston for her seventeen years of teaching at The Whitehaven Academy.
As Grease was the first musical she directed at TWA, it was a perfect choice for a surprise flash mob!
After weeks of secret rehearsals, everyone was taken by surprise during their lunchtime this Friday when students broke out into a flash mob performance to a medley from Grease.
The atmosphere was electrifying!
Students from across the year groups jumped up to perform when the music started playing in the atrium during their lunch.
Staff and students enjoyed the performance; it was brilliant to see the students stopping to watch and some also joining in with the singing and the dancing.
Well done to the EAT and choir students as well as some very enthusiastic year 10 lads who we managed to talk into reliving the iconic dance moves from year 9 Performing Arts.
A buzzing atmosphere with singing, dancing and smiles!
