The Whitehaven Academy students have been showing us how they celebrated the 75th anniversary of VE Day over the weekend. First up, we have this fantastic effort from Jake Hewitson. He made bunting, cut out letters and printed flags to decorate the windows of his mam’s office in town for everyone to see. Well done Jake!

Chloe Pennington really went all out to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Not only did she create ‘Churchill fruit cake’ using a national trust recipe, she also made scones and surprised her family with a 1945 tea party outside. She created a quote on the wall with stones from the garden, and then shared her cake with family and neighbours. Excellent effort Chloe!
