This week, we are representing those workers who are extremely important in the fight against COVID-19 and yet are rarely heard about, the Research Scientist. Up and down the country, research scientists have stopped their normal research and turned their talents to finding a cure or treatment for the Coronavirus. If it were not for these people, we would not have medicines and treatments, early diagnostic techniques for diseases, such as cancer, materials we use or wear every day or the food we enjoy. Actually, nearly everything you have is most likely available as a result of the work of a research scientist somewhere in the world. It is, therefore, right we should think about these key workers, their role and the work they do is very important.
