This week, we are celebrating the massive job of the post-delivery person. That may be either postman/woman, parcel delivery or post office worker, but these key workers have continued to deliver our post ever since the rest of us have been on lockdown. The Royal Mail has been around since 1516, that is over 500 years of postal delivery, an awful lot of letters and parcels! Sometimes, things do go wrong, mail goes missing or incorrectly delivered and sometimes we complain – but given the extreme length of service, and the sheer number of letters they have delivered (1.44 billion a year!), the odd mistake can be forgiven. These men and women are truly remarkable experts in their field. Let’s remember the people who seem never to let anything stop their delivery routes, the Postal Service!
