This coming Friday, 32 year-8 students have been chosen (names have already been circulated) to participate in a Crest Discovery Day. This is an all-day event.
They will be learning about diseases that spread quickly in Kenya and similar countries, learning about what is currently being done to tackle these problems, before designing and building a model hand-washing station for a school in Kenya. An example of one is shown here.
Students will gain experience with team building and funding problems, trading with other companies and this will culminate in a presentation of their product.
There will be a wealth of prizes to win, and every student will be put forward to be awarded a Crest Discovery Award which will look amazing on their future CV.
