On the 23rd June 2020, the world will be celebrating International Women in Engineering. This is a celebration that serves to encourage women into the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) fields, fields that are seriously under-represented by women. It is generally true that girls achieve higher grades in STEM subjects at GCSE level, yet a vast number choose not to continue studying STEM at A-Level (or equivalent), not to mention actually working in a STEM-related environment. International Women in Engineering 2020 is a day to encourage all women to take a look at STEM-related subjects at GCSE, P16 courses and degree/apprenticeship level courses. On the notice board of show my homework, I have posted 4 videos of women in different fields of STEM talking about their jobs and why they chose to do that type of work.
